Sometimes Egypt really wears on your patience. I mean it really does. I don't know that I'll ever live here again after this year is over. There's the sexual harassment, the terrible hospitals.
But there are some good times, too.
Today Mubarak, our downstairs British Bengali neighbor, dropped a cake off for us. It's also Katie's birthday today, so we had a cake at her house, and our landlady brought her a cake that she gave to us since she had so much.
Three cakes in one day?
Oh yeah.
And that's after last night, when I was craving sugar so badly that I ate jelly out of the jar with a spoon. Good old only been eating protein for weeks.

Once I was stuck on a tarmac in Jeddah because some Saudi idiot was being a jerk and woke up a sleeping kid. The mom started giving it to him, he yelled back all the moms jumped in a screaming riot ensued and we sat there for...three hours...then security got on, well taxied back to the gate, waited for another hour, then the jerk got back on and we flew to Riyadh...a 45 minute flight. The Arab world is wonderful
ReplyDeleteYup, that sounds about right. We had a delay on a train yesterday where one car was almost empty and everyone still shuffled into our car where there was barely standing room. I have no idea what it was about. Good old four and a half hour trip that I've done in two hours before.
