So our internet has been worse than patchy for weeks. It won't connect, when it does connect it is so slow that nothing will load, chatting has been almost impossible.
Repeated calls to the internet guy didn't help, either, and then Michael yelled at him publicly, so the relationship has been severed, to say the least.
Right when I was trying to download Harry Potter 6 from my friend's server.
Well, no worries, I'll just use the girls' internet downstairs. That worked for about a day, and then it would connect but nothing would load. How odd.
Until I got a phone call from Katie. Apparently the internet guy has my IP address and blocked me from using their service.
We will not be silenced. We will not go quietly into the night.

How did Katie know that the internet guy did that? Did he tell her that he blocked your IP address? That's so weird...
ReplyDeleteWe WILL NOT go quietly into the night. Truer words have never been spoken. We yelled and yelled at internet man so much just now that he has agreed to unblock your IP address - but apparently this might break the system....!
ReplyDeletethat internet guy sounds like he's an idiot. Allowing your IP will not break the system. In any case here's a few ways around it:
ReplyDelete1. Change the IP address of whatever laptop or computer you have. Make it a static IP thats one digit different than your old one on the last series of digits. For example if your old address was 192.168.1.10 make it 192.168.1.11
2. use a proxy site to web surf: http://www.mywebtunnel.com/
this way they cannot monitor what you are doing. This is good in countries that might block or use info about what you visit online against you.
No, he was just saying it would break the system because he always lies about everything he ever says.
ReplyDeleteHe unblocked it after a good yelling, but he only blocked it in the first place because he didn't like getting called out on all of his terrible lies.
Thanks for the advice.
by the way have you seen this:
